Firstgas, part of Clarus, together with GasNet, Nova Energy, Powerco, and Vector, has reached a key milestone in New Zealand’s first hydrogen blending pilot. Fourteen households in Te Horo, on the Kāpiti Coast, are now receiving a gas blend containing 10% hydrogen by volume, delivered through the existing gas distribution network.

The Mokau Compressor Station upgrade has reached a milestone, with the safe re-installation of the unit one gas cooler. 19 tonne cooler lowers the temperature of the gas so that its cool enough to send north in the pipeline.

German ‘hydrogen island’ reaches 30% green blending target
A gas blending trial in Germany is on track to reach a 30% hydrogen injection rate, cutting carbon emissions for 30 local homeowners. The blended gas is being delivered to an area in a town of standalone family homes, known as the Oehringen ‘hydrogen island’.
