Clarus was incredibly proud to be named the winner of the Deloitte Top 200 Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Award for 2025.

Kellie O’Sullivan, GM People and Culture said, “We were honoured to receive this award which celebrates organisations that are creating meaningful, sustained improvements in diversity and inclusion. For Clarus, it acknowledges the long-term commitment we’ve made to building belonging across our workplace and ensuring every person feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive.”

Our people and values at Clarus

Building Belonging is about taking practical steps to include everyone

With around 490 people across New Zealand and our main office in Taranaki, Clarus is committed to a culture where everyone can bring their whole selves to work.

“Our Building Belonging (Whakawhanaungatanga) programme, launched in 2022, is the foundation of our Diversity & Inclusion strategy. It is closely tied to our TIGER values -Together, Integrity, Grow, Empower, Respect - and our purpose of generating Good Energy at Work,” explained O’Sullivan.

“Rather than a one-off initiative, we set out to design something that reflects who we are as an organisation and to embed diversity, equity and inclusion at every level, not through quotas, but by cultivating belonging that drives connection, wellbeing and performance”.

The initial phase of work was to create the foundations for belonging, said O’Sullivan.

“We did this by running organisation-wide diversity and inclusion training, ‘heartbeat’ campaigns, inclusive policy reviews, induction improvements and team-building events that encouraged everyone to bring their full selves to work.

“The second phase was targeted workstreams where the team created tailored initiatives for Māori, woman and older workers. We have also worked to reduce the gender pay gap which has more than halved since 2020.

“At the same time, we know there is still more work to do. Belonging is something that is built every day and we remain committed to deepening our practice, challenging ourselves, and continuing to create a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported and able to thrive,” added O’Sullivan.

A big thank you!

This award is a testament to the collective effort of everyone at Clarus and especially those who have contributed, shared their stories, and championed inclusion in our workplace.
