Iwan joined Clarus in January 2019 as Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for asset management, engineering and capital delivery and for the operation of the gas transmission, distribution and storage businesses as well as the electricity distribution business, Firstlight Network.
Iwan was appointed Deputy Chief Executive in 2022.
Prior to joining Clarus, Iwan spent more than 20 years with Royal Dutch Shell in a variety of engineering, operations and asset management roles in New Zealand and Europe. Most recently he led the Shell business in New Zealand immediately prior to its divestment in 2018. Iwan has degrees in Chemistry, BSc(Hons), and Corrosion Engineering, MSc, from UMIST, Manchester and a MBA from Massey University, New Zealand. Iwan is also a Director of Liquigas Ltd.
