Key Presenters
Dr. Jeff Sutherland is the co-creator of Scrum, and was a original signatory of the Agile Manifesto, which marked the start of the Agile movement.
Dr. Sutherland has been a Scrum consultant to Microsoft, Oracle, Palm, Yahoo, Ariba, Cadence, and Adobe in Silicon Valley. His recent Google Tech Talk helped Google teams evaluate and extend their Scrum implementation on the revenue generating Google AdWords project. He has served as VP of Engineering or CTO at eleven software companies, managing the last seven entirely using Scrum, and achieved industry-leading, hyper-productive results. Dr. Sutherland is the Chairman of the Scrum Training Institute.
Dr. Sutherland is also an expert in distributed/outsourced Scrum and CMMI Level Scrum. His 2006 publication on distributed Scrum documented the highest performance software development project ever recorded for systems over 1,000,000 lines of code completed by SirsiDynix in the U.S. and Exigen Services in Russia.
Jens Østergaard has spent more than 20 years as a developer, DBA, team manager, project manager and ScrumMaster, developing software primarily in financial services organizations. Jens was the world's first Certified Scrum Practitioner, and has led a number of highly successful Scrum projects.
Jens Østergaard has a strong ability to communicate the fundamentals of Scrum. With more than 20 years of experience, he has worked with all aspects of software development.
You can read more about Jens Østergaard at scrum.dk.
Kane Mar is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and Scrum Coach (CSC) specializing in Scrum and Extreme Programming. He has been working exclusively with Agile software development teams since 2001 and has worked with clients such as QPass, Microsoft, Capital One, Progressive, and TransCanada Pipelines. Kane believes that learning is most effective if done through a combination of exercises, games, and discussion. He has constructed his training materials to provide an educational but still enjoyable course.

Prior to his work with Agile software development, Kane had 15 years of experience as a developer and project manager for Waterfall and RUP projects working with Java, Smalltalk, C, SQL and PL/SQL. Kane's recent technical interests have turned towards Ruby primarily because of its similarlity to Smalltalk.
